My wife bought me the NLT bible for my studies as a minister. I recently used it in a sermon for my youth group and a lot of my teens made the comment "hey we were able to understand what God had to say." I love the N.I.V. and the NKJV but the NLT. helps me even more with my ministry and my studies to help make Gods word even more clear.

Many have said that the KJV is on a 3rd grade reading level but it's not on a third grade understanding level. I use the NLT as a tool in my sermons because most of the scholarly study has already been done for my congregation. So there is a lot more understanding and a lot less head scratching. Thanks

I recently got an NLT Bible and am very impressed with the clarity of it. I have always used King James Version, and love it for it's poetic styling, however the NLT is wonderfully easy to understand. I found that I am learning things I never even knew that I missed.

As a Christian it was my long desire and dream to have a metal NLT Bible...it was always in my prayer until finally God gave me this gift last March 2009 through my missionary kids co-worker in Malaysia.
Since then, as I studied God's Word from my Metal NLT Bible I felt the nearness of God and the clarity of His voice...NLT translations has its simplicity, its uniqueness in touching the heart of the readers. I feel the annointing of the Holy Spirit through the Words...I used my NLT Metal Bible everytime I study, preach and teach the Word.
I thanked God for allowing me to have the Bible dreamed on and for the empowerment of the translators...may NLT continue to fulfill its calling to share their powerful translations of the Word into the world...God bless you all!!!

I've used a lot of study Bibles starting with one I was given in high school nearly 30 years ago. This is the best one I've ever used. The commentary and maps in this Bible are great. It helps me get a better sense of what it was like during biblical times.

My father is a pastor. He loves to use the NLT version during his sermon. He would tell us to find a verse and after someone volunteers to read it (KJV), he would ask my sister (a budding Christian) to read from her NLT...It opens up our eyes and we enjoy hearing this translation...Truly...it is a blessing.

This bible truly has taken hours of preparation and dwindled them. I can do in just a few minutes what it normally takes me hours to complete. The simplicity of the text and study notes makes this a bible study treasure.

My friend introduced the NLT to me. When I started to read it I was so amazed: The language is so easy yet the text is deeply accurate to the original Hebrew/Greek. The NLT is a breakthrough in modern Bible translations and brings the Word of God to the people in such a way that you can understand it better. Thank you, God bless you!

I love the clarity of the language without sacrificing accuracy. The articles, introductions and profiles make a quick study session impossible.... but that is a good thing! The publishers of the NLT Study bible are definitely Christ and customer-oriented. My favorite bible!

From my childhood I was reading King James Version of the Bible and memorising the verses. But NLT Study Bible helped me to study the Word indepth and get clear understanding of the situation and context with the features attached.

I must confess that the NLT Bible has been one of my favorite translations for some time. It was because it helped me to 'get it" that I would use it for reading aloud during Bible study. This helped others to better understand. The NLT Study Bible can only make clear become crystal clear.

Before I was officially "saved", my sister gave our entire family copies of the NLT Study Bible. I must confess it gathered dust for several years. However, when the Lord called me to a church in our local city, it was this bible that I took with me and grew to love God more and more by reading His words in this version of the bible. I am truly a fan of the NLT Study bible and now have added the NIV Study Bible to my collection as well. It has helped me learn so much more! Thank you.

I have been using the NLT version since 1998. Each time they come out with an update, I try and buy it. But the previous study bibles from NLT (Life Applications)have always left me searching for more.
Now that the NLT Study Bible has come out, I am grown closer in my walk, and feel God's presence. When I read and study, it all makes sense to me. Thank you for developing this version

I teach Bible Studies and find the NLT concise, accurate and very helpful in relating to everyone. The Study Bible aspect is also helpful in explaining those difficult sections of scripture. I find the chain reference aspect of the Bible essential in keeping a sense of context and connection with all scripture.

I have a disability that keeps me from moving around a lot, and my faith has helped me through my trials. Reading and studying the Scriptures has been a joy in my life. I have loved the New Living Translation since the days when The Living Bible was published, and I have a Living Bible that I use that is 29-years-old by my count. I found the NLT Study Bible while surfing the web and tried the access to the online version of the Bible and I loved it. I used it constantly in the 30-days and I thank you for your kind offer. Regrettably, times are a little difficult right now, and expenses, even reasonable expenses, must be evaluated. Hopefully, someday soon, I will be able to purchase a copy of the NLT Study Bible.

I teach middle school Bible at a Christian school and we are required to use the New King James version for memorization. Before the children begin their memorization, I use my NLT study Bible to help in the comprehension of the verses by shedding light on the historical, geographical, and word usage. It's always easier to memorize verses if you understand the content first.

I love to read the word and the NLT has been one of the greatest Bibles written. The study portion of this Bible is really great to use and it really gives you that "I get it" moment when you are having trouble understanding and then wow that makes sense

This study stands out from the others that I have seen in that it really makes maximum effort to explain as clearly as possible with maps, diagrmms, history etc. To have so much help and information in one volume is quite a treat!

I was just 7 days sober in AA and I bought this bible at a yard sale.I read John and I was reborn!
I still love this version most.
The Lord meets us were we are in simple terms...I use it for newcomers and as a footnote I haven't had the desire to drink in 7.5years.

I own over twenty five different Bibles. I recently purchased the NLT Study Bible from Christian Book Distributers for my wife for Christmas. She asked for the NLT and told me it is the finest Bible she had ever used. I looked at it agree, and now I want to use this NLT as the Bible I give to new Christians. I love the NLT translation. The study notes are like no other Bible I have ever seen.
I appreciate getting this great study, disciple tool, Bible just for telling my story. thank you.

My husband, Gregory grew up going to church and having a relationship with God; but little biblical knowledge. He often asks me questions and requested a study bible for Christmas. I appreciate the ease with which the NLT makes scripture to be understood--which can intimidate people. I look forward to him being able to study on his own and not ask for translation from me. This is the PERFECT bible for him. Thanks!

Almost every church I've attended always insisted that the King James version of the Bible is the only "true" word of God. I am now a student in seminary and have recently learned that the KJV was translated from copies of copies of the original Greek and Hebrew texts. These copies were all done by hand. If a mistake was made in the series of copies it was carried into the next set of copies and if more mistakes were made, (mistakes could include misspellings or leaving out of words, etc) after centuries of copying meanings could have been changed. Also there are words in both Hebrew and Greek that don't translate well into English so the translators would use what they considered appropriate which also could distort the true meaning. The modern translators have access to older copies to work with than did the KJV translators which would be closer to the original wording. I now use the NLT and other more modern versions in my studies. Also I work with the homeless as a part of my ministry and I find it is far easier to get them to listen when I teach from the NLT

I normally used the NKJV Bible when attending church services, but I mainly use the NLT Bible online for studying. I love to read it online, because it is very easy reading, and it is written in everyday language so anyone can read it and clearly understand the meaning of the text. I can read a verse from another version with minimal understanding and then go the the NLT version and read the same verse and experience an "AHA" moment; that is, "So, that's what that means! Now, I get it!" I love the language of the NLT Bible. I would love to have an NLT Study Bible.

I Love the NLT study bible. I am in Seminary and this Study Bible has made being in school a breeze. I love that fact that it gives you the profiles of the Biblical Characters; their weaknesses and strenghts. It tells you were to find there story in Bible. The Vital statistics and intro to the book are really great. It makes reading the Bible enjoyable.

I've been saved since I was almost 4 years old, so I've been reading the Bible for 38 years now - no other translation has touched my heart like the NLT. My mom and I often comment that it's like reading the Bible for the first time, as we discover new insights that we had never noticed before. I'm especially excited that the NLT (New Testament) is now available in Spanish to share with new converts as they are saved through our ministry in Mexico City. I hope you complete the full Bible in Spanish soon and eventually translate the Study Bible notes as well - what a blessing in our lives and ministry!

The NLT Study Bible has played a very large part of my walk and Faith with God. Without it I most certainly would not have the knowledge, understanding and wisdom to decipher the mysteries of God and the cultures, traditions and people of the past. This should be mandatory reading for all Christians who are called to be teachers of the Word. I can truthfully say that "I Get it"!

Each year for my Bible read through I select a good version I haven't used before (e.g., New English Bible, The Message, etc.) to stimulate my mind not to sleep through the text because of familiarity. This past year the NLT has been a delight. Its readability has made it easy to reflect on the meaning of the text. I have highlighted many renderings in nearly every chapter as being worthy of further review. The scholarship behind the translation is evident, reliable, and balanced.

My experience with this edition,if you want sharper, more intense bible studies, this is your bible. If you want a deeper, stronger, personal relationship with our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ, I feel this version is a giant step in that direction with the Holy Spirit leading the way. I love the way the topical index supports the intext notes and profiles. Really makes it easier for putting together topical studies, devotions etc..

Many in our coummunity are challenged by reading, either because English is their second language, or because they did not learn to read well. I am increasingly using the NLT in worship, preaching and Bible studies because it tells the message of the text clearly, simply and reliably.

When I preach, I use the NLT because I want people to hear and understand God's Word. I love how it uses words, phrases, & dates that every day people can relate to. People in the congregation have gone out & bought a copy because they enjoyed hearing it. My first NLT copy has already worn out from use!

As a Minister I tend to be very selective about any new translations. as you are aware some leave ot the shed blood of Christ.
When I picked up the NLT I knew I found the Bible I have been looking for. Of course in sermon preperation I use several translations. But I always use the NLT to introduce my text to the audience. The clear and direct reading makes it so easy to understand. I have gotten many positive comments from my aduience about how they like the "NEW" Bible I have been using.

My daughter and I are reading through the Bible together. We each use our own translation. I like NIV; she likes NLT Study Bible. Often times we find that we "get it" better when we read Scripture together in her NLT because her Bible reads like we talk. Thank you for making Jesus accessible to us, together!

When I was ordained as an Anglican priest, my bishop presented me a copy of the New Living Translation Bible. I have read from, studied and enjoyed several versions and translations of the Bible. Despite how much I appreciated my personal use of other versions, I consistently used the New American Standard version for all congregational readings...until recently. I first started using NLT in small group Bible studies and the participants loved hearing the passages read from NLT. So, I recently began using NLT in all our congregational readings of Scripture. Now, I have members of our church family buying their own copies of the NLT. Scripture is becoming even more alive for our members. Now my precious friends "get" what they read and seem even more eager to apply the Word of God in their own lives.

Jesus "KNOWS" people! (& we don't)
The verse that first caused me to appreciate the New Living Translation was John 2:24-25. In the NIV, this verse never meant very much to me, but in the NLT, it jumped off of the page and moved me! The NIV has "But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all men. He did not need man's testimony about man, for he knew what was in a man."
Look at how the NLT has it: "But Jesus didn’t trust them, because he knew human nature. No one needed to tell him what mankind is really like."
JESUS KNOWS WHAT PEOPLE ARE REALLY LIKE! And because we do NOT know what people are really like, we have to choose from externals or experiences whether or not to trust them. (In doing that, we will sometimes fall for things with people that Jesus did not fall for.) In reminding me that I do NOT “know” people like Jesus did, I was encouraged not to be too quick to believe that people always mean (or will do) what they say. This has greatly helped me with even my close spiritual relationships, adding the extra measure of follow-up that was needed (even with leaders).

As a pastor, I frequently review several translations in preparation to preach on a text. I want to make sure my message will preach clearly and accurately no matter which translation a person has in the pew. What I find is that the NLT is a refreshing and helpful translation which often adds an important nuance or aspect that I hadn't gleaned from the translation in the pew Bibles in my church. So thank you for your fine work on the NLT

I love the NLT study Bible. I work with teens and sometimes trying to break down scripture so that the teens can understand can be challenging. With the NLT study bible I no longer have to do that. They break it down for you. I love how at the bottom of each page the scripture above is explained very well. I don’t ever have to worry about what my teens read when the read out of the NLT study bible because I know they will have greater understanding of Gods’ word when they read this bible.

I am the pastor of a United Methodist Church in Southern Arkansas. Using the NLT has made preaching God's Word an even more enjoyable honor. The NLT says in plain and very readable language what would take more sermon time to explain to our parishioners. It is a constant source of inspiration and invaluable Bible study resource. I love you it!

I was saved about 18 years ago, and promptly started reading the Bible. I "read" the most populat version, but didn't understand much of it. However, I was told that God would lead me to understand it if I prayerd about it. I did pray, and when I found the NLT Study Bible, I knew it was the answer to my prayer. So many helpful facts to help me understand not only the Word, but why it was so important! Thank you.

As a youth and young adult the King James version was the standard Bible to use. Then I was intrduced to the New King James, then the NIV, and finally the NLT Study Bible. What a mark of progression and a world of difference in what I could now study, understand, look up, and have a number of extra tools at my fingertips.

One of my favorite scriptures, learned in my childhood, comes from the GOSPEL of JOHN...Chapter 15 verse 7....where the LORD exhorts us to "ABIDE IN ME"
I was always unsure of the true meaning of "abide"...but recently I checked the NLT and read..."if you stay joined to ME and My Words remain in you, you may ask any request you like, and it will be granted !." I like the concept of being "joined" to GOD...being on God's team...one of HIS dieciples. Now, "I GET IT." THANKS...

It is my position and calling to work college students and young adults in helping them become Disciples of Christ. In doing so, I often use a word for word translation, but only AFTER I have shared the passage from the NLT Study Bible. I encourage them to use it, as it is a translation that is so fresh and 'alive.' That is a key to getting this (or any) generation excited about knowing our Lord and His word. The path to study deeper through the tools provided within the NLT Study Bible makes it very easy to dig deeper and accelerates the search to find answers.

I enjoy the study Bible. The KJV and NKJV have always been difficult to understand alone. Onec I picked up the NLT is was like the world of Christian living opened up to me. I understand things much better. The language is in everyday terms that make since. And the study notes at the bottom of the passages are especially helpful.

My sister purchased the NLT Study Bible for me as a Christmas gift. I had asked for a Study Bible of another translation, which I was using in a Bible Study group. Now I wouldn't trade the NLT translation for anything. The study group refers to my Bible many times when the other translation is hard to understand. I use this Bible as my personal study; I can't do without the additional resources it provides.

I have been a Christian for most of my life and have always had difficulty in understanding the Bible. I just didn't get it. The 'thee's and 'thou's just did not register in my mind. Not being able to comprehend opened a window of opportunity for the enemy to cause doubt as to my salvation because Jesus said His sheep know his voice and I clearly did not understand the Bible.
Then I bought a copy of the NLT Bible and like rain washing away the dirt on a dusty old car which has been sitting idle for years, my eyes were finally opened to the words of Christ. The language was one I could easily understand and the notes and other aids made my hunger and thirst for knowledge of the Savior increase 100 fold.
I still have other versions of the Bible, I guess I just do not feel right about getting rid of them. But now they gather dust while my NLT and me show the signs of being "well worn"

I just received my NLT Bible Study book last week and prior to that I used for the past couple years(after sitting dusty on a shelf for years) the NLT Bible for understanding and another for the parallel and a dictionary/concordance - what a HUGE difference it makes to have everything in one book! I look forward to putting my NLT Study Bible to use for many, many years to come...I just wish I'd gotten the indexed, leather version. I really love it!

I am 57 years old. I am now completing my third reading of the entire Bible. I have been a Christian since I was 8 years old. It took me until I was 53 years old to truly realize that everything I need to know about life and what God would have me to do was written in His word - I just had to read it. With this new NLT Study Bible that will become even clearer as I study and go deeper and deeper in the Word. I "got it" 4 years ago and now I really "get it"
May God bless all who have the discipline and take the time to read His Word.

It was during a time that i needed a fresh wind of God's word to sustain me that I discovered the NLT Study Bible. I recommend it to anyone desiring a clear understanding of the word of God.

The NLT Study Bible has become the backbone of my teaching 3 small groups to youth and adults. The notes place Scripture into cultural and historical context that truly engage people, regardless of age...it helps the lesson become more relevant and applicable to their lives...and makes me a better teacher.

About 3 years ago my sister gave me a copy of the NLT. I'd been a believer since a young girl and so grew up loving the Word of God. But when I started reading the the NLT, I absolutely fell in love with the Word of God all over again. Familiar passages were fresh with new meaning. Since then I've blessed lots of people with gifts of the NLT Bible. I do not have a copy of the NLT Study Bible but look forward to getting one soon.

I am a just an ordinary believer I just came across the a copy of the NLT Study Bible. I was amazed! I have just been hearing about the NLT and glad that there is a bible study progressing. The book introductions and profiles were excellent. I loved the in text maps and time lines. If all of that wasn't enough, the word study feature carried me away. I suggest this should be the way of studying the bible. I wish you all the best and thank you for these studies

I love reading the various translations of God's Word. when I discovered the NLT Study Bible, I was enthralled. So much so that my wife and I gave copies to all three of our children. It is so useful for study and understanding. A number of us in our Bible Study group have this study Bible and its footnotes are often used as we seek to understand what God is saying to us today.

I think that the NLT Study Bible is a perfect translation. I love the maps, the interpretation (like a commentary), the timeline, the concordance, The intro. and the conclusion. This is something never happened before in history of Bible translation. It helps me understand the Bible more...I got it.

useful as a tool for young converts, where English is not their local language. NLT bible is good resource for developing countries. I have used NLT bible at the recommendation of a minister in a developing country context. I get blessed too because its usage of language is an everyday language and more contemporary than the NIV.

I had several Bibles but no "Study Bible" until last year my son bought me the NLT Study Bible for Christmas. Each day I read not only the passage but each book introduction when I come to them as well as the theme notes. When I am in Bible Study with others the study notes are very helpful. And I take the Bible when I do prison ministry because the translation is so easily understood. I look forward to many more years of discovering how much more "I get it"!

I received my first bible on October 28,1988. It was a student bible. I read it to this day, although it does not have the study notes and indepth notes as the NLT Bible. I find the references very helpful in my daily devotions and scripture study. I will use my bible to explain simpler stories to my son and use the NLT Bible for deeper understanding.

I used the NIV for about ten years. It is a very good translation, one I still like, and still read. But I noticed that I was skiming over some parts. Then for my birthday, I got a paper back NLT Bible. I loved it, but somethings wore still not clear. Then I picked up the NLT study Bible, and things are much clearer. I am reading a book I never knew was important (Leviticus). I praise God for the NLT study Bible

I had used the NIV for about ten years. It is a very god translation but there wore things I did not understad. Then my mom got me a Gift and Award edition of the NLT. I loved it, things that made no sence before wore becoming clearer, but I was not 100% there. Things became clearer then ever. I am explaining things in Sunday school when I use to just sit there with my mouth shut. I praise God for the NLT Study Bible

I grew up reading a very popular Bible translation. But when I discovered the NLT Study Bible, I found two things. First, the NLT translation is fresher and clearer than I'd ever experienced. It makes me stop and notice things I've gotten used to skimming over. Second, the sudy features are awesome. Every time a see a theme note section, I know I'm going to get something extra and something good. And I love the other tools like the people profiles, the running outlines, the notes, and even the dictionary/concordance. My whole study experience is more fresh and has more depth--I'm glad I discovered the NLT Study Bible.

I am a junior high pastor who just picked up a copy of the NLT Study Bible. I was amazed. I have always respected the NLT and was excited when I heard that there was a Study Bible comming out (not just the Life Application or SLAB). I couldn't believe how thurough the NLT Study Bible was!!!The book introductions and cheracter profiles were excellant, the foot notes were incredabily comprehensive - not just a few per page, it was almost like reading a commentary attached to the bottom of my bible. I loved the in text maps and time lines. If all of that wasn't enough, the word study feature blew me away. To get all of these features I have had to use two or three other study bibles, but not any more. This is a study Bible the way it should be!
